On motion by Mr. Clarke, The vote was reconsidered by which the Act entitled an
Act to amend the charter of the Union Railroad Company
was passed. On motion by Mr. Clarke, The further consideration of said bill was postponed.
On motion by Mr. Clarke, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to authorize the Cumberland Coal and Iron-
Company to distribute certain of its assents among its stock-
holders, and reduce the capital stock. Mr. Clarke, from the Select Committee to whom was refer-
red House bill entitled an Act to make valid the acts and
deeds of the Road Supervisors in Baltimore county, acting
under the law passed at the January session of 1868, chapter
411, approved March 30th, 1868, reported with the follow-
ing amendments: Section 2. Strike out all after 1870, in line 14. Section 3. Amend by adding: Provided, that no moneys
levied or collected by the County Commissioners for road
and bridge purposes from other districts in the county, shall
be expended in said first election district for roads and
bridges, while said first election district is exempted from
the provisions of the General Road Law, passed at the Janu-
ary session, 1870. Section 5. Be it enacted, That the County Commissioners
of Baltimore county be, and they are hereby directed to pay
to William Webster, and such other parties as he may show
to be entitled to receive the same, the amounts due for re-
building and repairing the bridges at Monkton and Sparks,
over the Gunpowder river ; which said work was done by
said Webster, acting under the law of 1868, chapter 411,
and the amount so paid to said Webster and others, shall he-
deducted from the General Road and Bridge Fund of said
Baltimore county, created by the Act of 1870. Which were severally read and adopted.
Said bill was then read the second time. Also, from the same Committee, to whom was referred
House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 149 to 157, both
inclusive, of the third Article of the Public Local Laws re-
lating to roads in Baltimore county, and sub-sections 2 to 7,
inclusive, and section 3, of the Act of the General Assembly
