tions in lieu thereof, reported it without amendment.

On motion by Mr. Wilson, (the rules being suspended,)

The Joint Resolutions tendering the thanks of the General
Assembly to Professor Roosevelt for his lecture on Fish, be-
fore the Legislature,

Were read the third time and pasted by yeas and Bays, as
follows:

Earle, Stephenson,
Fields, Timmons,

Said Resolutions were then sent to the House of Delegates.

Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to au-
thorize the Cumberland Coal and Iron Company to distri-
bute certain of its asset among its stockholders, and to re-
duce its capital.

Which was read the first time.

Also, from the same Committee, to whom the leave was
granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to amend an Act
passed at the January session, 1867, chapter 131, entitled an
Act to incorporate the Resolute Fire Insurance Company, of
Baltimore.
Which was read the first time.

Also, from the same Committee to whom the leave was
granted, reported unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1864, chapter
144, entitled an Act to incorporate the Board of Beneficence
of St. John's Independent Methodist Protestant Church in
the City of Baltimore,

And the report was adopted.

Also, from the same Committee to whom the leave was
granted, reported unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1864, chapter
