Mr. Carroll submitted the following amendments :
After the word "artillery," in line 4, section 6, add, chief
of cavalry.

Amend section 13, by adding at the end of the section,
Provided, however, That all arms, ammunition, equipments,

or other supplies, directed to be furnished by the Governor,
under the provisions of tin's Act, shall be so furnished by

contracts made with the lowest responsible bidder upon pub-
lic notice, and the officer making such contracts shall certify

the account with explicit vouchers, and transmit the same,

countersigned and approved by the Governor, to the Comp-
troller for final settlement, in the mode and manner pre-
scribed in the Constitution for the audit and payment of

claims against the State.

Amend section 26, by adding at the end of the section the
following words : in section 13 of this Act.

Amend section 27, line 1, by adding after the word
"much," the word, thereof.

Section 27, line 2, after the word "appropriated," in line
2, add, until the next meeting of the Legislature.

Amend section 27, by inserting the following after the
word "Act," in line 6: The salaries of the Adjutant General
and Armorers at Easton and Frederick to be included in and
paid out of the aforesaid sum.

Which were severally read and adopted.
The sections, as amended, were read and adopted.
Said bill was then read the third time and passed by yeas
and nays:

Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.
The President announced a communication from his Ex-
cellency, Governor Bowie, through the hands of R. C. Hol-
lyday, Esq., Secretary of State,
Endorsed, "Executive Nominations."

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act entitled an
Act to amend Article 29, of the Code of Public General Laws,
by adding thereto the following sections relating to the liens
