A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of January session,
1867, chapter 268. entitled an Act to incorporate the Balti-
more Warehouse Company,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay the Electors of President and Vice President of the Uni-
ted States in and for the State of Maryland, their officers
and attendants.

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 302 of the Acts of
the General Assembly of 1868, entitled, an Act to provide for
refunding money paid into the Treasury,

Endorsed, "Reported unfavorably from the Committee on
Ways and Means, and report adopted."

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section I, of Article 22, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the Almshouse in
Worcester county, and enact a substitute therefor,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

A bill entitled an Act to amend Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Wicomico county, by adding several
new sections thereto, entitled an Act to extend the corporate
limits of the town of Salisbury, &c.,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

The President laid before the Senate the following commu-
nication from his Excellency, Governor Bowie :

EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT,
Annapolis, March 14,1870.

Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland;

I herewith transmit to you a special communication on the
subject of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, as promised in my
Annual Message at the commencement of the present session
of the General Assembly.

Which was read, and the accompanying message ordered.
to be printed.

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to repeal
section 17, of Article 53, of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled "Landlord and Tenant," as repealed and re-enacted
by chapter 173 of 1868, &c,, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.
