ed under its charter to build, through Frederick and Mont-
gomery counties, to the boundary of the District of Columbia,
so as to make a direct connection with the City of Washing-
ton.

On motion of Mr. Owens,

Leave was granted to the Cecil county delegation to intro-
duce a bill to repeal the Charter of the Town of North East,
in Cecil county, and to re-enact the same with amendments,
and the adding of a new section thereto.

On motion of Mr. Shipley,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to prevent stock from running at large within
two miles of Catonsville, in Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Dennis,

' Leave was granted to Messrs. Dennis, Purnell and Brat-
tan to introduce a bill to increase the number of Magistrates
for the first election district of Worcester county.

On motion of Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend Article 78, of the Public General
Laws, title "House of Refuge," by adding two sections
thereto.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Mercantile Li-
brary Association, of the City of Baltimore, and to continue
the same in force.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add additional sections to Article 26, of
the Public General Laws, title "Corporations," as amended
by Act 1868, chapter 471.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the
January session of the General Assembly of Maryland, in the
year 1858, chapter 276, entitled "an Act to incorporate the
Maryland Mutual Life and Fire Insurance Company" by
changing the corporate name thereof.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to confer upon the State of
