ferred House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 1 of chapter
442, of the laws passed January session, 1868, and to enact
the same with amendments, entitled "Seines," reported it
with the following amendments :

Amend the title by inserting after the word ''County," in
the third line, the words, "relating to the hauling of
seines."

Which was read and adopted.
"Said bill as amended was then read the second time.

Mr. Spates, from the Select Committee to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to repeal section 69, of
Article 1, of Public Local Laws, entitled "Allegany County,"
sub-title "Fences," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.
On motion by Mr. Carroll,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of the unfavor-
able report of the Committee on Finance, on the House Joint
Besolutions in reference to the claim of the State against the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company.

After debate,
On motion by Mr. Carroll,

The further consideration of said report was postponed
temporarily.

Mr. Carroll moved that the first business in order at the
evening session, should be the consideration of the Militia
bill.

On the question being put,
It was determined in the affirmative.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 15th, 1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have the pleasure of informing your Honorable Body
that we are in receipt of a communication from his Excellen-
cy, the Governor of the State, informing us that the Com-
missioners of Fisheries of the State of New York have ac-
cepted the invitation to address the General Assembly, and
