Teackle Wallis, Enoch Pratt, Johns Hopkins, Brown &
Brune, Kirkland, Chase & Co., F. W. Bruue & Sons, Wm.
Pinkney Whyte, Thos. Whitridge & Co., W. T. Walters
& Co., Newcomer & Co., Galloway Cheston, Francis T, King,
R. T. Baldwin and others, praying for extension of Charter
of Mercantile Library Association of Baltimore, &c.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Also,

The memorial of the Board of Directors of the House of
Refuge.

Which, was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Seibert presented the petition of F. D. Herbert, and
a large number of citizens of Washington county, praying
the passage of an Act repealing the Acts regulating the
Militia of the State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Militia.

Mr, White called up the following order submitted by
him on Friday, 28th inst.:

Ordered, That the order heretofore passed by this House,
directing that every bill presented to this House shall be
printed before it shall be passed, be and the same is hereby
rescinded in so far as it relates to local bills.

Which was read and adopted,

Mr. Kean submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to Mr Percy,
of Allegany, for one day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. White submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Bow-
lus is absent from his seat on account of sickness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hoblitzell submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Speaker appoint from each of the 2d and
3d districts of Baltimore city, one additional member to act
with, the Committee on Chesapeake Bay, &c.

Which was adopted.

And Messrs. Wiley, of the 2d, and Hoblitzell, of the 3d
Legislative districts, added to said Committee.
