Mr. Watkins presented the petition of Joseph A. Forney,
for compensation for services rendered as per order of the
House of Delegates.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Also,

The petition of Elizabeth Veirs for a pension.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Also,

The petition of Ann F. Council for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the same Committee.

Mr. Woolford presented the petition of Dorinda H. Trav-
ers, of Dorchester county, asking to be placed on the pension
list.

Also,

The petition of Mary Travers, widow of Robert Travers,
asking to be placed on the pension list,

Also,

The petition of Sarah Parks, widow of Solomon Parks, of
Dorchester county, asking to be placed on the pension list.

Which were severally read, and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Mr. Collins presented the petition of Elizabeth Lippey,
widow of Geo. Lippey, soldier of the war of 1812.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions

Mr. Cooper presented tho petition of R. A. McAllister, J.
C. Parsons, J. R. West and 30 other citizens of Baltimore,
asking the passage of a law to orohibit the manufacture of
tin cans by convicts in the Maryland Penitontiary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manu-
factures.

Mr. Shipley presented the petition of S, H. Green and 40
other citizens of Baltimore-county, asking for the passage of
a law to prohibit the sale of intoxicating liquors within 1 1/2
or 2 miles of the village of Warren, in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. McLane presented the memorial of the Mercantile
Library Association of Baltimore, and John P. Kennedy, S.
