SATURDAY, March 12,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Father Jackel.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Browne, Clarke, Fields, Grove, Henry,
Hyland, Kimmel, Malone, Sellman, Spates, Stephenson,
Welch, Wilson—14.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bills:

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 149 to 157, both
inclusive, of the 3d Article of the Public Local Laws, rela-
ting to roads in Baltimore county, and sub-sections 2 to 7,
both inclusive, and section 3, of the Act of the General As-
sembly, of 1868, chapter 411, and to re-enact the following
sections in Iieu thereof.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Sena-
tors from Baltimore county, Anne Arundel and Frederick.
counties.

Abill entitled an Act to amend chapter 389, of the Acts
of the General Assembly, January session, 1864, entitled an
Act supplemental to the Act entitled an Act to incorporate
the Baltimore and Liberty Turnpike Company, and amenda-
tory of the Act entitled an Act incorporating a Company to
make the Bloomingdale Turnpike Company, &c.

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Sena-
tors from Baltimore county, Anne Arundel and Frederick
counties.

A bill entitled an Act to change the jurisdiction of the
Supreme Bench of Baltimore city, and reapportion and en-
large the jurisdiction of Baltimore City Court, the Superior
Court and the Court of Common Pleas of said city, as pro-
vided by section 39 of Article 4, of the Constitution.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

Abill entitled an Act to repeal sections 139 to 148, both
inclusive of the Code of Public Local Laws for Somerset
county relating to retailers, and re-enact the same with
amendments.
