Which, was read and referred to the Senators from St.
Mary's, Calvert and Queen Anne's county.

On motion by Mr. Miller,

Leave of absence was granted to J. F. Valdenar, page, un-
til Wednesday next.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following order :

Ordered by the Senate, That witnesses summoned before
the Investigating Committee of this body from Allegany
county, in this State, be allowed twenty-five dollars as
mileage.

On the question being put,
It was determined in the affirmative.
On motion by Mr. Grove,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to intro-
duce a bill to appropriate the sum of $5,000 to endow or to
establish at or near Easton, in Talbot county, of the Eastern
Shore, a Home for the Friendless.

On motion by Mr. Wilson,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Western
Maryland Co-operative Produce Association.

Mr. Welch, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to
amend an Act entitled an Act to incorporate companies to
make several turnpike roads through Baltimore county, and
for other purposes, &c.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

From the same Committee, to whom the leave was grant-
ed, reported a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the town of
Upper Marlborough in Prince George's county.

Which was read the first time.
Also,

From the same Committee, to whom was referred House
bill entitled an Act to incorporate the New York and
George's Creek Coal Company, reported it without amend-
ment.

Said bill was then read the second time.
