Entitled an Act to repeal sections one and' four of chapter 31,
of the Code of Public General Laws, passed. January ses-
sion, 1865, and to repeal sections I and 2 of chapter 440, of
the laws passed by the Legislature of Maryland, 1868, in
relation to the publication of the General Laws, and re-
enact a section to provide for the, uniform price for publish-
ing the Public General Laws.

SECTION 1. He it enacted by the General assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 1 and 4 of chapter 31. passed January

session, 1865, compelling all General Laws passed, which
arc made to take effect before the 1st day of June, to be pub-
lished at the expense of the State daily for one week, in two
daily newspapers of the City of Baltimore, and one news-
paper in each county, having the largest circulation in said
county, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 1 and 2, of chapter 440, of laws passed
by the Legislature of Maryland, 1868, compelling the publi-
cation of the General Laws in two newspapers in the City of
Baltimore, and one newspaper in each county, having the
largest circulation, be and the same is hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That every Public General Law

which is made to take effect before the first day of June next

after the session at which it may be passed, shall immediate-
ly after its passage lie published at the expense of the State,
one time in two daily newspapers of the City of Baltimore,

and in one newspaper in each county, if there be a paper
published in said county; said paper to be designated by the
President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Dele-

gates, a certified copy of every Public General Law made, to
take effect as aforesaid, alkali be transmitted by mail by the

Secretary of the Senate, (if the same originated in the Sen-
ate,) and by the Chief Clerk of the House Delegates, (if the
same originated in the House of Delegates,) to said papers,

and the said papers each shall be paid by the Treasurer upon
the warrant of the Comptroller of the Treasury, on the first

day of December next after the publication of the same, the
sum of seven hundred dollars in full for said service.

SEC. 4. And it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Said bill was then read the first time, and ordered to be
printed.
Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,

to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to con-

tinue in force an Act entitled an Act to regulate and mike
uniform the fees of Constables, passed January session 1865,
chapter 67, reported it without amendment.
