ting the Columbia and Port Deposit Railroad Company,
passed at the January session, 1858, chapter 103, giving au-
thority to extend their road and connect the same with other
railroads,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

March 4,1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We respectfully propose, with the concurrence of your
Honorable Body, the appointment of a Joint Committee of
the two Houses, to consist of five on the part of the House
and two on the part of the Senate, to examine the condition
of the Land Office, and report to the General Assembly what
legislation they may deem necessary.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Mar-
tin, Standish, Ritter, Beck and Baldwin, of Anne Arundel.

Chief Clerk.
Which was read.

Also,
Delivered the following bills:

A bill entitled an Act to alter and amend an Act passed at
January session, 1854, chapter 60, entitled an Act to incor-
porate a Society in Washington county, to be styled the Ag-
ricultural and Mechanical Association of Washington coun-
ty; and also an Act passed at January session, 1867, chapter
200, entitled, an Act to revive and continue in force the Act
of 1854, chapter 60, entitled an Act to incorporate a Society
in Washington county to be styled the Agricultural and Me-
chanical Association of Washington county, so as to convert
said. Association into a joint stock corporation, and to legal-
ize certain Acts heretofore performed by said Association.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 98, 99, 100, 101,
102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 108, 109, 110, 111, 112, and
113, of Article 6, of the Code of Public Local Laws, under
title "Caroline County," sub-title "Greensborough," and the
Act of 1866, chapter 96, and to enact the following in lieu
thereof.
