House bill entitled a supplement to the Act entitled an Act
to incorporate the Frederick and Emmittsburg Turnpike
Company, passed at the December session, 1844, chapter 136,
reported it without amendment. -

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Welch, from the same Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled a supplement to the Act entitled
an Act to incorporate the Frederick and Emmittsburg Turn-
pike Company) passed at the December session 1844, chapter
36, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Welch, from the same Committee, to whom was refer-
red House bill entitled an Act supplementary to the Act of
1867, chapter 354, incorporating the Queenstown and Har-
rington Railway Company, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Welch, from the same Committee, to whom was refer-
red House bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at
January session 1867, of the General Assembly of Maryland,
chapter 219, entitled an Act to incorporate the Monumental
Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore, and to change the
name of said corporation, and enlarge its powers, reported
it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Welch, from the same Committee, to whom the. leave
was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to amend the
charter of Snow Hill, in Worcester county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Welch, from the Select Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act for the better protection of
Birds in Allegany county, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, to
whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to change
the provisions of section I, of Article II, of the Constitution
of. this State) title, "Baltimore City," relating to the term
of office of the Mayor of said city, as provided in and by sec-
tion 9, of said Article, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Miller, from the. Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to amend
the Article of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
" House of Refuge," by adding two sections thereto, declare
