Which was read and referred to the Senators from Queen
Anne's, Talbot and Kent counties.

Mr. Grove presented the petition of sundry citizens of Clear
Spring district of Washington county, praying the passage
of a law to prevent the sale of intoxicating liquor in said
town and the election district of Clear Spring.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judicial
Proceedings.

Mr. Henkle presented the memorial of sundry citizens of
the 8th district of Anne Arundel county, praying the passage
of a bill to change the place of holding elections in said dis-
trict.

Which was read and referred to the Senators from Anne
Arundel, Baltimore, and Frederick counties.

On motion by Mr. Snyder, it was

Ordered, That the Secretary of the Senate be directed to
have printed, for the use of the Senate, 100 copies of the
Rules for the regulation and government of the Senate of
Maryland.

On motion by Mr. Malone,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Wicomico Exchange and De-
posit Bank.

On motion by Mr. Jump,

Leave was granted to Senators Jump, Earle and Welch to
introduce a bill to repeal section 39 of Article 20, of the Code
of Public Local Laws, entitled "Talbot County," and re-
enact the same with amendment.

On motion by Mr. Parker,

Leave was granted to Senators Parker, Hyland and Jump
to introduce a bill to provide for the protection of fish in the
Patuxent river.

On motion by Mr. Timmons,

Leave was granted to a Select Committee to introduce a
bill to amend an Act passed by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland 1868, chap. 238, entitled "Licenses."

On motion by Mr. Snyder,

 
Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore city to
introduce a bill lo enable the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore, in conformity with the provisions of an ordinance
heretofore passed, to subscribe to the amount of one million
of dollars to the capital stock of the Valley Railroad Company
incorporated by the State of Virginia.
