NEGATIVE.

Messrs. President, Hyland,
Biggs, Jump,
Browne, Malone,
Clarke, Parker,
Fields, Sellman,
Henkle, Stephenson,
Henry, Timmons—14.

Mr. Kimmel moved that said bill be recommitted to a Se-
lect Committee.

On the question being put,
It was determined in the negative.
Mr. Kimmel moved that the Senate adjourn.
On the question being put,
It was determined in the negative.
Said bill was then read the second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for a new Code
of the Statute Laws,

Was considered and postponed.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
business, and after a time, resumed the consideration of
Legislative business.

On motion by Mr. Fields,
The Senate adjourned.

MONDAY, February 28,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Miller.
Present at roll call the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Biggs, Browne, Earle, Fields, Henry,
