Mr. Martin, of St. Mary's, to iutroduce a bill to repeal sec-
tions 96 to 107 inclusive, of the Code of Public Local Laws
for Charles county, under the head of " Roads," as amend-
ed by Act passed session of 1868, chapter 452, and to enact
a substitute therefor.
On motion of Mr. Markland,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
allow Silas M. Hamilton, of Baltimore city, to make certain
bequests to the Baptist Churches therein named in said city.
On motion of Mr. Mitchell,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Mitchell, Chapman and
Martin, to report a bill to repeal and re-enact section 50, of
Article 9, of the Code of Public Local Laws for Charles
county, regulating the number of Justices of the Peace and
Constables in said county.
On motion of Mr. Owings,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Owings, Duke and Baldwin,
of Anne Arundel, to report a bill to authorize the County Com-
missioners of Calvert county, to issue bonds to the amount of
$150,000, to aid in the completion of the Baltimore and Drum
Point Railroad, after said road shall have been completed
to the Calvert line ; the same to be submitted to the taxable
voters of said county.
On motion of Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Hardcastle, of Talbot, Ham-
mond and Brown, to report a bill to repeal chapter 70, of the
Acts of 1819, and to authorize the removal of obstructions
to the navigation of the Narrows at Kent Island, Queen
Anne's county, and the erection thereat of a bridge upon
piers.
The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bill:
A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 12 and 15, of an
Act passed January Session, 1867, chapter 298, entitled an
Act to incorporate the Pennsylvania Line Railroad Company,
and re-enact the same with amendments.
Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.
Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judicia-
ry, reported favorably a bill entitled an Act to declare the
sanction of the General Assembly of Maryland to the bequest
or devise of Henry A. Stinnecke, late of Baltimore city, de-
ceased, to the Bishop of the Protestant Episcopal church ia
Maryland.
