ward, State's Attorney for Dorchester county, of a sum of
money as compensation for professional services rendered the
State.

On motion by Mr.. Grove,

Leave was granted to Senators Grove, Kimmel and Ma-
lone, to introduce a bill to exempt all Ministers of the Gos-
pel from a fine for marrying persons of non-age, when
they have received from the Clerk of the Court of the re-
spective counties of the State, a proper license, and repeal
all Acts inconsistent therewith.

On motion by Mr. Maddox,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend an Act entitled an Act to incorpo-
rate the President and Directors of the Chesapeake Fire in-
surance Company of Baltimore, chapter 220, Acts of 1858.

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred. House bill entitled an Act to permit
the hunting of foxes in Kent county,

Reported it unfavorably, and
The Report was adopted.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the inspec-
tion of all artificially manufactured or manipulated fertili-
zers, imported or brought into or manufactured for sale in
the City of Baltimore,

Being upon its second reading, was,
On motion by Mr. Can oil,
Ordered to be postponed until Tuesday next, March 1st.

Mr. Maddox, from the Committee to wait upon the Presi-
dent of the United States, both Houses of Congress, the Di-
plomatic Corps, and the Judges of the Supreme Court, and
to invite them to the privileges of the floor of both Houses of
the General Assembly, reported that the Committee had per-
formed that duty and asked to be discharged from the fur-
ther consideration thereof, and the report was adopted.

The President announced a communication from his Ex-
cellency, Governor Bowie, through the hands of R. C.
Hollyday, Esq. , Secretary of State,

Endorsed ''On Executive Nominations."

The Senate bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale by
Common Carriers of unclaimed freight, to pay the charges
due thereon,
