260 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 19,

The House bill entitled an Act to add an additional section
to Article 12, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Har-
ford county," sub-title "State's Attorney,"

And the report was adopted.

The President announced a communication from his Ex-
cellency, Governor Bowie, by the hands of B. G. Hollyday,
Esq., Secretary of State,

Endorsed, "On Executive nominations."

Mr. Spate, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
was referred House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the
Real Estate and Savings Bank of Baltimore,

Reported it without amendments.
Said bill was then read the second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Baltimore county to complete the Re-
cords in his office, and to provide new indices to the Land
Records therein, and to provide the means of paying there-
for,

Being upon its second reading,
Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment :

Strike out all after the word office," in the sixth line,
section 4, to the end of the section.
Which was adopted.
The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.

Said bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

By unanimous consent,

Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an
Act to regulate the sale, by common carriers, of unclaimed
freights to pay the charges due thereon.

Which was read the first time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the School
Commissioners of the 5th district of Baltimore county, to sell
and convey a piece of land for school purposes,

Was read the second, time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to require the Mayor and.
City Council of Baltimore to take charge of and keep in re-
pair all highways and bridges within the city limits,
