Independent Methodist Protestant Church in the City of
Baltimore, be and they are required to report to this General
Assembly the amount of property of every kind and descrip-
tion held by it, how it acquired the same, and the mode of
investment of its funds, and how the same have from time to
time been expended, as authorized by the 4th section of the
Act of 1864, chapter 144, incorporating the same. On motion by Mr. Clarke, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1864,
chapter 144, entitled an Act to incorporate the Board of
Beneficence of St. John's Independent Methodist Protestant
Church in the City of Baltimore. Mr. Clarke submitted the following order : WHEREAS, it is probable that the President of the
United States, the members of Congress, the Judges of the
Supreme Court of the United States, and the members of the
Diplomatic Corps, will visit Annapolis during the stay of
H. B, M. Ship Monarch in this port, Therefore, be it ordered by the Senate of Maryland, (the
House of Delegates not being ill session,) That a committee of
three be appointed by the presiding officer, to invite the Presi-
dent of the United States, the members of Congress, the
Judges of the Supreme Court, and the members of the Diplo-
matic Corps to visit the floor of both Houses while in session. On the question being put,
It was determined in the affirmative. The Chair appointed as said Committee Senators Maddox,
Miller and Hyland. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill entitled an Act to regulate
and make uniform the fees of Justices of the Peace, Reported it without amendments.
Said bill was then read the second time.
Also, House bill entitled an Act to enlarge the corporate powers
of the Maryland Baptist Union Association, in relation to the
holding of property, Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time.
