The President appointed as said Committee, Senators Henry,
Clarke and Sellman.

Senators Kimmel and Stephenson were excused from serv-
ing on the Joint Committee to visit the Beneficiary and Re-
formatory Institutions in the State.

The President appointed Senators Denson and Malone to
fill said vacancies.

The House bill entitled an Act for the protection of Fish
and Terrapins in the Potomac river, lying in St. Mary's
county, and to regulate the time and manner of catching and
taking Fish in that portion of the Potomac river, &c.,

Being upon its third reading,
Mr. Miller submitted the following amendment :
