The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
business, and, after a time, resumed the consideration of
Legislative business.

On motion by Mr. Clarke.
The Senate adjourned.

FRIDAY, February 18,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hildt.
Present at roll call, the following Senators :

Messrs. President, Clarke, Denson, Earle, Fields, Hyland,
Kimmel, Maddox, Miller, Sellman, Snyder, Spates, Stephen-
son, Timmons, Welch, Wilson—15.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.
On motion by Mr. Fields,

Leave of absence was granted to John Williams. Door-
keeper, until Wednesday next.

On motion by Mr. Fields,

Leave of absence was granted to Senator Malone until
Tuesday next.

Mr. Henkle, from the Select Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House Bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50 of Arti-
cle 9, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Charles
county," sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables,
&c.,"

Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Henkle moved that said bill be read the third time
this day.

The yeas and nays were called, as required by section 27
of Article 3, of the Constitution, and appeared, as follows :
