a bill to repeal the pension laws of this State. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
was referred the bill entitled an Act to enlarge the Corpor-
ate power of the Maryland Baptist Union Association in re-
lation to the holding of property, Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read the second time. Mr. Maddox, from the Select Committee, to whom was refer-
red House bill entitled an Act for the preservation of fish
and terrapins in the tributaries of the Potomac river lying
in St. Mary's county, Reported it without amendment.
Said bill was then read a second time. Mr. Grove, from the Committee on Federal Relations, to
whom was referred the Joint Besolutions in relation to
the limit of the hours of labor of operatives employed in fac-
tories, reported unfavorably thereon. Mr. Kimmel moved to postpone the further consideration
of said report until Monday, the 28th instant. Which was determined, in the affirmative. Mr, Spates, from the Select Committee, reported a
bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter 63,
in relation to certain roads in Allegany county, and the ap-
pointment of Superintendents of the said roads. Which was read the first time. Mr. Spates, from the Committed on Corporations, to whom
was referred the bill entitled an Act to alter and amend
the charter of the .Fire Insurance Company of Allegany
county, so as to enable said Company to declare semi-annual
instead of annual dividends. Which was read the first time. Mr. Spates, from the Select Committee, to whom the leave
was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to add an addi-
tional section to the Public Local Laws of Allegany county,
Article I, and to repeal sections 24, 25 and 26 thereof, and
re-enact the same with amendments, dividing the City of
Cumberland into ten election wards. Which was read the first time.
