January session, 1867, entitled an Act to authorize the Penn
Mutual Horse Thief Detecting and Insurance Company to
transact business in the State of Maryland, &c.

Also, House bill entitled an Act to enable certain alien heirs of
William Dalzell, late of Montgomery county, deceased, to
take certain lands lying in Montgomery county, of which
the said William Dalzell died seized and possessed.

Also, Senate bill entitled an Act to add additional sections to the
30th Article of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Crimes and Punishments," relating to killing cattle. Which was read the first time. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred Senate bill entitled an Act to author-
ize the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore county to
complete the records in his office, and to provide new indices
to the Land Records therein, and to provide the means for
paying therefor, asked to be discharged from the further con-
sideration thereof.
On motion by Mr. Miller, Said bill was then referred to the Committee on Finance.
Also, unfavorably on Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the sale of intoxi-
cating liquors within half mile of the grounds of the Carroll
County Agricultural Society, during the holding of the' an-
nual' Fair, except at the licensed hotels, restaurants and
stores in the town of Westminster.
And the report was adopted.
Also, unfavorably upon The petition of Thomas W. Kelly, John R. Basman and
other citizens of district No. 2, in Somerset county praying
the passage of a prohibitory liquor law for said district. And the report was adopted.
