Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to
amend further the Act entitled an Act to incorporate the
Baltimore and Liberty Turnpike Company, in Carroll county,
passed at the January session, 1866.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Carroll, from the Select Committee to whom the
leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to repeal
an Act of the Code of Public Local Laws of 1868, chapter
358, entitled an Act to provide for the repairs of the public
roads of Howard county.

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Timmons, from the Select Committee to whom was
referred House bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor
to appoint an additional Justice of the Peace for district
No. 1, in Worcester county, reported it with flip following
amendment:

Amend section 1, in the fourth line after the word "coun-
ty," add, also one additional Justice of the Peace for elec-
tion district No. 8.
Which was adopted.

The section, as amended, was then adopted.
Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Liberty
Branch Rail Road Company,
Being on its second reading,
Mr. Biggs submitted the following amendment :

Add at the end of the 1.8th section after the word "road,"
and the Legislature reserves to itself the right to alter,
amend or annul this Act at pleasure.

Which was adopted.

The section, as amended, was then read and adopted.
On motion of Mr. Biggs,

Said bill was referred to the Committee on Judicial Pro-
ceedings.

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled
a supplement to an Act, entitled an Act to incorporate the
Superannuated Fund Society of the Maryland Annual Confer-
ence, passed at the December session 1839, chapter 285, pass-
ed at the December session 1844, chapter 21,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
