Said bill, as amended, was then read the second time. Mr. Stephenson, from the Select Committee to whom was
referred a House bill entitled an Act for the better protection
of Partridges, Pheasants and Woodcock, in Harford county,
reported it with the following amendments : AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Amend section 1, bystriking out the words "or Wood-
cock," where they occur at the end of the fourth, and begin-
ing of the fifth line. Amend section 7, by inserting the word "and," in the
fourth line between the words "Pheasant and Partridges." Amend title by striking out the words "and Woodcock,"
where they occur in the second line. Amend the title further by inserting the word "and,"
between the words "Partridges and Woodcock." Which were adopted. The sections as amended were then adopted.
Said bill as amended was then read the second time. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred the House bill entitled an Act to repeal
section 50 of Article 5, of the Public General Laws, relating
to appeals and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to
add a section to said Article, reported it with the following
amendments:
AMENDMENT 1st. Amend by inserting after the word "matter" in the sev-
enth line of section 50, the following words : "And this sec-
tion shall be construed to include all action of debt for the
collection of fines, penalties and forfeitures imposed by any
law of this State, and which are made recoverable before a
Justice of the Peace, in which a right of appeal may not be
given by the law imposing the same. AMENDMENT 2ND. Amend by inserting after the word "appear" in the eighth
line of section 50, the following words: On or before the
second day of the term of the Court to which such appeal is.
