Act entitled an Act to incorporate a Company to build a
Turnpike Road from Liberty town, in Frederick county,
through Johnsville to Pipe Creek, reported it without amend-
ment. Said bill was then read the second time. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings
reported, unfavorably the House bill entitled an Act to provide
for the better protection of Partridges in Cecil county. And the report was adopted.
Also, Reported favorably on Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal
section 2 of Article 49, of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Joint Obligations and Joint Tenancy," and to re-
enact the same with amendments. Which was read the first time. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on. Judicial Proceedings,
to whom the leave was granted, reported a bill entitled an
Act to amend the 16th Article of the Code of Public Gene-
ral Laws, by adding thereto the following sections, relating
to Trustees appointed by wills or by a decree of a Court of
Equity, &c. Which was read the first time. Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom was referred House bill, entitled an Act to extend
the jurisdiction of Justices of the Peace for Wicomico county,
to oases of assault and battery, reported it unfavorably. On motion by Mr. Malone, Said bill was ordered to lie over until Wednesday, Feb-
rury 23d.
Also, The House bill, entitled an Act to authorize, empower and
require Wm. Stewart, Administrator, to sell the real estate of
Isaac Stewart, late of Somerset county, deceased, under a
decree of the Orphans' Court for Somerset county, to pay
over the balance in his hands, as Administrator and Trus-
tee aforesaid, after satisfying all just debts of the said Isaac
Stewart, &c., reported it with the following amendment: AMENDMENT PROPOSED. Insert after the title the following preamble : Whereas, Isaac Stewart, colored, late of Somerset county,
died intestate, without leaving any legal representatives,
but leaving surviving him, Annie Stewart, with whom the
