Judicial Proceedings.

Also,
Joint Resolutions in relation to the Island of Cuba.

Mr. Earle moved a call of the Senate, and the Sergeant-at-
Arms was directed to inform the absent Senators that their
attendance was required in the Senate Chamber.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,

Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with
Mr. Grove submitted the following amendment:

Amend in line 23, by striking out the word "instruct,"
and insert in lieu thereof the word request.

Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Grove,

Said resolutions were postponed, and made the order of the
day for Tuesday next, February 8th,

On motion by Mr. Compton,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
business,

And, after a time, resumed the consideration of Legisla-
tive business.

By unanimous consent,

Mr. Hyland, from the Select Committee to whom the leave
had been granted, reported a bill entitled an Act authorizing
the County Commissioners of Somerset county to change the
place of holding the election in the 2nd election district of
said county, known as Dames' Quarter District,

Which was read the first time.
By unanimous consent,

Mr. Malone, from the Select Committee, to whom the leave
had been granted, reported a bill entitled an Act regulating
the compensation of witnesses in Wicomico county,

Which was read the first time.
On motion by Mr. Snyder,

Leave of absence was granted to Senator Stephenson for a
few days.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,
The Senate adjourned.
