been paid with punctuality ; and at the same time to commu-
nicate any correspondence between his predecessor in office
and the officers of said Company on this subject.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bills:

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 50, of Article 5, of
the Public General Laws relating to appeals, and to re-enact
the same with amendments, and to add a section to said Ar-
ticle.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 939 of Article 4, of
the Code of Public Local Laws relating to Baltimore city,
sub-title "Water" as enacted by chapter 457 of the Act of
Assembly passed at the January session 1868, and to re-enact
the said section so as to read as follows :

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1 and 2 of chapter
240, passed at the December session of the General Assembly
of 1861, entitled an Act, to amend Article 4, of the Code of
Public Local Laws relating to the City of Baltimore, by pollut-
ing the water in Swann Lake, Dam, Reservoir, Line of Conduit
Water Pipes, Gate House or other works of constructed or
used in supplying Baltimore with water.

Which was read the first time and referred hi the Senators
from Baltimore city and county.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments section 170 of Article 30, of the Public General Laws,
entitled, "Crimes and Punishments," sub-title "Rivers."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

The vote by which the Senate bill entitled an Act to direct
the Attorney General of this State to cause the State of
Maryland to be, by proper proceedings, made a party in the
cause now pending in the Circuit Court of Baltimore city,
&c.,

Was reconsidered and made the order of the day for to-
morrow.
On motion by Mr. Clarke,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
business, and after a time resumed the consideration of Legis-
lative business.
