Crier of the Circuit Court of Calvert; county. On motion by Mr. Fields, it was Ordered, That the Adjutant General be requested to report
to the Senate, as soon as conveniently may be, the number of
arms belonging to the State, and where the same are depo-
sited, the description of the arms, and the expense of storage
of said arms. Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Stephenson, it was Ordered, That there shall be no smoking of tobacco in the
Senate Chamber or the ante-room adjoining the same, during
the sessions of the Senate or during its daily adjournments ;
and the Sergeant-at-Arms, and all other officers of the Sen-
ate, are hereby directed and required to enforce this order
strictly. Which was adopted.
On motion by Mr. Miller, Leave was granted to Senators Miller, Browne and Jump
to report a bill to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter 234, rela-
ting to West Nottingham Academy, in Cecil county. On motion by Mr. Miller, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill requiring "Commercial Agencies" and their agents in
this State, to take out a license. On motion by Mr. Jump, Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to refund Samuel S. Yeo, late Collector of State and
county taxes in Chappel district, Talbot county, a sum of
money overpaid into the State Treasury. On motion by Mr. Stephenson, Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-
troduce abill to repeal section 17, of Article 9 '', of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Weights and Measures," and
re-enact the same with amendments. On motion by Mr. Kimmel, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Western Maryland Railroad Company, by increasing the
number of Directors in said Company, and authorize the
appointment of six Directors by the Mayor and City Council
