said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, and by authoriz-
ing the said Company to issue its bonds to the amount of
fourteen hundred thousand dollars in addition to the amount ,
already authorized, and to secure the payment of the same
by mortgage. On motion by Mr. Henkle, Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to provide for a new Code of the Statute
Laws of the State, and to appropriate a sum of money for
that purpose. On motion by Mr. Stephenson, Leave was granted to Senators Stephenson, Grove and
Browne to introduce a bill to extend the time for the com-
mencement and completion of the Maryland Central Railroad,
passed March 13, 1867, chapter 121. Mr. Miller from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to whom the House Joint Resolutions in relation to the grant-
ing the use of the State Library to the Judges of the Circuit
Court for Anne Arundel county, during the sessions of said
Court, reported them without amendments. Said Resolutions were then read a second time. Mr. Spates from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
leave had been granted; reported a bill entitled an Act to
incorporate the Liberty Branch Rail Road Company. Which was read the first time.
Also, A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of Jan-
uary session, 1867, chapter 268, entitled an Act to incorpo-
rate the Baltimore Warehouse Company. Which was read the first time. Mr. Spates from the Committee on Corporations, to whom
had been referred House bill entitled an Act to incorporate
the Convention of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the
diocese of Easton, reported it with the following amendment : Strike out all in the 2d line of section 3, after the word
"four" down to the word "hereby" in line 3, of the same sec-
tion, and insert in lieu thereof the following : The Conven-
tion of the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of
Easton." Which was adopted.
Said bill was then read the second time.
