Mr. Chapman presented the petition of Ellen H. Morton,

asking for a pension.


Also,

The petition of Eleanor Marshall, widow of Walter Lati-
mer, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking for a pension.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Mr. Woolford presented the petition of Mary Stewart and
Ann M. Carter, asking to be placed on the pension list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. McLane presented the petition of Reverdy Johnson,
I. Nevitt Steele, Wm. Schley, R. J. Brent, S. H. Tagart,
Isaac D. Jones, and 120 other members of the Bar of Balti-
more city, to change and enlarge the jurisdiction of certain
Courts in said city.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the.
Judiciary.

Mr. Seibert submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. John Murdock, of Washington county,
have leave of absence until Wednesday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Owings submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Comptroller furnish this House with the
number of hogsheads of tobacco inspected at each warehouse ;
the cost of inspecting same, including officers' salaries, labor,
nails, and all other expenses as incurred by the Inspector of
each house.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Standish submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the bill incorporating the town of Frost-
burg be exempted from the operation of the order requiring
all bills to be printed after a third reading.

Which was read, and lies over one day under a rule of the
House.

Mr. Purnell submitted the following order :

Ordered, That William T. Bullen, one of the Folders of
this House, have leave of absence until Tuesday next.

Which was adopted.
