upon each steam saw mill in Worcester county, to be applied
to the repairs of the public roads in said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Purnell, Dennis
and Lankford.

Mr. Winters presented the petition of George D. Snyder,
for a pension, for the war of 1812.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Chapman presented a petition to refund taxes, paid in
error, to Philip Bardel.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Thomas, of Queen Anne's, presented the petition of
John W. Evans, Samuel B. Meredith and Thomas F. Gaw-
throp, Commissioners of Church Hill, and 36 registered
voters of Church Hill, Queen Anne's county, for the passage
of a law prohibiting the Clerk of said county to issue license
to sell liquor in said town, unless to persons recommended
by the Commissioners of said town.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Also,

The petition of Richard C. Tilghman, John R. Emory and
22 other citizens of Queen Anne's county, for the enactment
of laws for the protection of Water Fowl in the State of
Maryland.

Also,

The petition of Hon. R. B. Carmichael and 26 other citi-
zens of Queen Anne's county, for the enactment of laws for
the protection of Water Fowl in the State of Maryland.

Which were severally read and referred to the Select Com-
mittee on that subject.

Mr. Welty presented the petition of Rachel Emmerson,
asking for a pension.

Also,

The petition of Catherine Wessinger, asking for a pension.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Pensions.

Mr. Neill presented the petition of Jacob Read and Thos.
South, asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
