WEDNESDAY, January 26,1870.
The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Father Freitag.
Present at roll call, the following Senators:

Messrs. President, Biggs, Browne, Carroll, Clarke, Den-
son, Earle, Fields, Grove, Henkle, Henry, Hyland, Malone,
Miller, Sellman, Snyder, Welch, Wilson.—18.

The Journal of Tuesday was read and approved.

Mr. Wilson presented the petition of the Rev. Peter Thomas
Mahar and others, for an Act to incorporate the Society of
Carmelites, of the State of Maryland.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Mr. Wilson presented the petition of citizens of Upper
Marlborough, praying the passage of an Act to incorporate
said town.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Mr. Wilson presented, the petition of Ann Gray, of Prince
George's county, asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Snyder presented the petition of Rezin B. Simpson, a
soldier of the war of 1812, praying for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Miller presented the petition of sundry citizens of
Elkton, Cecil county, asking that the Act of Incorporation
of said town be amended, and further powers be granted, to
the President and Commissioners thereof.

Which was read and referred to Senators Miller, Carroll
and Browne.

Mr. Denson presented the petition of Jas. Cannon and
50 other citizens of Wicomico county, against taxing the
property within the corporate limits of Salisbury, to provide
Public Buildings for said county.

Which was read and referred to Senators Malone, Fields
and Henry.
