The House met.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Mitchell, Chapman, Cameron, Shipley, Gatch, Choate, Tur-

Harrington, Woolford, Meekins, Touchstone, Owens, Rich-
ards, Biddle, Marbury, Wootton, Duvall, Thomas, of Queen
Anne's, Brown, Purnell, Thomas, of Frederick, Bowlus,
McCreery, Ritter, White, Ady, Baldwin, of Harford,
Streett, Hopkins, Hardcastle, of Caroline, Garey, Sanner,
Hamilton, Cooper, Morse, Blake, Webb, Wiley, McLane,
Colton, Kirk, Collins, Ehlen, Gardner, Markland, Mar-

The Journal of yesterday was read.

Mr. Biddle presented the petition of E. W. Lockwood and
46 others, asking for a hog law in the first district of Cecil
county.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil delegation.
Also,

The petition of A. P. Bar wick and others, asking an ex-
tension of time in the collection of taxes in the second election
district of Cecil county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.,

Mr. Mitchell presented the petition of Sally Moore, widow
of James Moore, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking for a
pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Webb presented a petition from P. P. Pendleton and
100 members of the Corn Exchange, praying for additional
legislation to protect the Wild Fowl of the State.

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.

Mr. Purnell presented the petition of S. S. Queen, John
T. B. McMasters and others, asking the imposition of a tax
