Trustee in any trust relating to real estate or leasehold prop-
erty, created by will.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to authorize common carriers, after
advertising for thirty days, to sell and dispose of unclaimed
goods, and baggage to pay charges on the same.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake
Bay and its Tributaries to introduce a bill to protect fish in
the fresh water streams of the State of Maryland.

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill to create an additional Justice of the
Peace for the 5th district of Baltimore county.

On motion by Mr. Snyder,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 185
of Article XXVI., of the Code of Public General Laws, and
to re-enact the same in the following amended form.

On motion by Mr. Snyder,

Leave was granted to the Senators from Baltimore city to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to prevent incompetent per-
sons from conducting the business of Apothecary in the city
of Baltimore.

On motion by Mr. Henkle,

Leave was granted to Senators Henkle, Carroll and Fields
to introduce a bill to appropriate a sum of money to purchase
a suitable portrait of the late Gov. Thos. G. Pratt, to be
placed in the Executive Chamber.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following message :

By THE SENATE,

January 25,1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We propose, with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
the appointment of a Joint Committee, consisting of two
members of the Senate and three members of the House of
Delegates, to inform the Hon. John Merryman of his election
as State Treasurer for two years, from and after the day of
his qualification as such.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate Messrs.
Clarke and Henkle.
