Mr. Timmons, from a Select Committee, to whom the leave
had been granted, reported a bill entitled an Act to amend the
Public General Law, passed January session 1865, Chapter
31, so as to exempt Somerset and Worcester counties from
the effects of the 2nd section thereof so far as relates to the
publication of the Local Laws.

Which was read the first time,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 1, chapter 22 of
the Public Local Laws relating to the Alms House in Wor-
cester county and to enact a substitute therefor.

Was read the third time and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:
AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. President. Malone,
Biggs, Miller,
Browne, Sellman,
Carroll. Snyder,
Clarke. Spates,
Earle, Stephenson,
Henry, Timmons,
Hyland, Welch,
Jump, Wilson—19.
Maddox,
NEGATIVE—None.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates,

The President announced a communication from his Ex-
cellency, Governor Bowie, by the hands of B. C. Hollyday,
Esq., Secretary of State; endorsed, on " Executive business."

On motion by Mr. Snyder,

The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
business, and, after a time, resumed the consideration of Le-
gislative business.
By unanimous consent,

Mr. Miller presented the petition of Martha A. Brown and
others, of Cecil county, asking to be placed on the pension
list.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Earle moved that when the Senate adjourns to-day it
stands adjourned until Monday at 12 o'clock M.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

Leave of absence was granted the President of the Senate
until Wednesday next.

The Senate adjourned.
