So much thereof as is embraced under the head of "Pen-
sions," be referred to the Committee on Pensions.

So much thereof as is embraced under the heads of "Pro-
posed Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United
States, Federal Compensation for Emancipated Slaves, and
War Claims against the United States," be referred to the
Committee on Federal Relations.

And so much thereof as is embraced under the heads of
"Maryland Penitentiary, and the State Deaf and Dumb
Asylum, and the State House and Grounds and New Gov-
ernment House," be referred to the Committee on Public
Buildings.

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Spates from the Committee on Corporations reported
a bill entitled an Act to repeal sections twelve and fif-
teen of an Act passed at January Session, 1867, chapter
two hundred and ninety-eight, entitled, "An Act to Incorpo-
rate the Pennsylvania Line Railroad Company," and to re-
enact the same with amendments.

Which was read the first time.
Mr. Snyder submitted the following message.

BY THE SENATE,

Jan. 13,1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message, requesting our presence
in the Hall of the House of Delegates, at 12 o'clock, M., on
Thursday, the 20th inst., to proceed to anelection of three
Commissioners of Police, and concur therein.

By order,
AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY,
Secretary.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

On motion, the Senator from Howard county was granted
leave of absence for one day.
