Strike out all after the word "delegates,"and insert in
lien thereof the following :

We have received from your Honorable Body a message
proposing, with the concurrence of the Senate, to proceed to
the election of a State Treasurer, on Thursday, the 13th
instant, and non concur therein ; but propose, with the con-
currence of your Honorable Body, to proceed to an election
for State Treasurer, on Tuesday, the 18th instant, at 12
o'clock meridian.

On the question being put it was determined in the affirma-
tive by yeas and nays, as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Carroll, Malone,
Denson, Miller,
Earle, Snyder,
Fields, Spates.
Hyland, Stephenson,
Maddox, Welch—12.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. President, Jump,
Biggs, Kimmel,
Browne, Sellman,
Clarke, Timmons,
Henkle, Wilson—11.
Henry.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
message as amended, it was determined in the affirma-
tive.

Mr. Carroll presented the petition of Alexander Brown &
Sons, asking to be refunded certain money erroneously paid
to Baring Bros., Agents of the State of Maryland in Lon-
don.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Finance.

Mr. Biggs presented the petition of John M. Litzell and
others, praying the passage of a law to authorize the con-
veyance of certain church property in Emmettsburg, Fred-
erick county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
cial Proceedings.

Mr. Wilson presented the petition of Thos. Ryan and
others, praying for the division of the Third Election Dis-
trict of Prince George's county.

Which was read and referred to a Select Committee, con-
sisting of Senators Wilson, Parker and Henkle.
