The House met, and was opened with prayer by Mr. Ship-
ley, of Baltimore county.
Present at the call of the roll, the following members:

The Speaker laid before the House the resolutions of both
Branches of the City Council, in convention assembled,
against any law confirming the nominations of the Mayor of
Baltimore city, by the Second Branch only, instead of by both
Branches of the City Council, as now requred ; and in favor
of the amendment adopted by the House of Delegates, that
the salaries of teachers in the Public Schools in the City of
Baltimore, shall be fixed subject only to the approval of the
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.
Which were read and referred to the Baltimore city dele-
gation.
Mr. Morse submitted the following order:
Ordered, That Mr. Poteet bo appointed Assistant Reading
Clerk of this House.
Which was adopted.
The House then proceeded to the consideration of the fol-
lowing order, submitted by Mr. Purnell on yesterday:
Ordered, That this House meet at 9 1/2 o'clock, A. M., and
hold three sessions a day, each day, during the remainder of
this session.
