The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
amendment submitted by Mr. Gorman, it was adopted.
Mr. Gorman submitted the following amendment:
Section 7, line 1, strike out all after the word "effect" and
insert: when the said Trustees shall first give bond in the
penal sum of one million dollars for the faithful performance
of the trust hereby confided to them, and for the payment of
the ten per cent, of the gross amount received of said Canal.
