I herewith transmit statement of Brig. Gen. Win. H.
Neilson, General Enrolling Officer , also, account of George
F. Thompson and George W. C. Bell, Esqs., Justices of the
Peace, they being the only magistrates who have complied
with the order issued from this office on the 17th instant,
requiring magistrates to make immediate returns.
All of which is respectfully submitted,

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Militia.

Mr. Percy presented the petition of W. W. Crow, Chas.
A. Houston and 122 others, praying for the passage of a law
prohibiting the sale of all intoxicating liquors in the town of
Mount Savage, and within a circumference of two miles of
said town, in district No. 12, Allegany county.

Which was read, and referred to the Allegany delegation.

Mr. Wells presented the petition of Joseph Owens, asking
for a pension,

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of Philip Cline for a
pension.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Duke presented the petition of William H. Underbill
for relief as to payment of State bounty.

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Marbury presented the petition of Mrs. Susan Bryan,
of Prince George's county, to have State and county taxes,
erroneously paid, refunded,

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Claims.
Mr. Hamilton submitted the following order:

Ordered, That it be placed on the Journal,, Mr. Wiley is
absent from his seat in consequence of urgent business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Streett submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Hop-
kins is detained from his seat in this House, by reason of his
failure to make the necessary railroad connection.

Which was adopted.
