The Journal of Friday last was read.

The Speaker laid before the House the following commu-
nication from Levin Woolford, Comptroller of the Treasury :

COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE,
ANNAPOLIS, January 22, 1870.

Hon. Ferdinand C. Latrobe,

Speaker of the House of Delegates :

DEAR SIR :—In compliance with the following order, passed
by the House of Delegates on the 21st instant, to wit: "Or-
dered, That the Comptroller of the State be requested to
communicate to this House, the amount of money paid out
of the Treasury, for military purposes, since March 30th,
1868," I will state there has been paid, on the several mili-
tary accounts, the sum of three hundred and seventy-five
thousand one hundred and seven dollars and fifteen cents,
($375,107.15,) to this date.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Militia.

Also, the following communication from General George
H. Bier, Adjutant General, in response to an order of the
House, together with accompanying papers :

STATE OF MARYLAND,

ADJUTANT GENERAL'S OFFICE,

Baltimore, January 20, 1870.
To the Honorable the House of Delegates of Maryland:

GENTLEMEN :—In response to your order requesting the
Adjutant General of Maryland to inform your Honorable
Body what monies have been received by him for fines and
enrollment, under Chapter 414, Acts 1868, I have the honor
to make the following

REPORT:
Amount received from Enrolling Officers, as per

vouchers filed in this office...................... $15,600.50

Contra,

Amount deposited in National Mechanic's Bank,
to the credit of the Governor, for military
purposes, and withdrawn over his check for
said purposes.................$10.592 20

Amount paid for incidental

expenses........................ 5,008 30
