AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Insert after the word "river," in line 4, section 2, page
8, at or below Shepherdstown, in Jefferson county, West
Virginia.

Which was adopted and the bill, as amended, read a second
time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to regulate the trial fees of the
State's Attorney for Dorchester county.

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Harrington submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Section 2, line 8, after the word "proper" insert the fol-
lowing : And for all trials in criminal cases before Magis-
rates the same fees shall be allowed the said State's Attorney,
as are now allowed in similar cases before the Circuit Court,
to be taxed by the Magistrate with the other costs in the
case, and paid by the party if convicted, and to be paid by
the County Commissioners if the party is acquitted, or is un-
able to pay.

Which was adopted and the bill, as amended, read a
second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 153, of Article
11, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled Frederick
county, sub-title inspections, and to 're-enact the same with
amendments,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and Coun-
cil of Hagerstown to proceed under and by virtue of chapter
73, of the Acts of 1866, to open an alley in Hagerstown,
closed by the Act of 1832,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled a "A further supplement to an Act en-
titled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore City Passenger
Railway,"

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. White,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the Senate
bill entitled an act to authorize Joshua Motter and Samuel
