The bill entitled an Act to define the duties of the Fire In-
spector for the city and county of Baltimore,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. Chapman,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to add additional sections to Article 69, of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Officers," regulating
and prescribing the number and compensation of officers of
the Senate and House of Delegates, and repealing Acts in-
consistent therewith.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Chapman submitted the following amendment

Sec. 13, line—after the words "Reading Clerk," insert the
words : per diem, seven dollars.

Which was adopted.

And the bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Percy,

The House proceeded to the consideration of the Senate bill
entitled an Act to authorize the Cumberland Coal and Iron
Company to distribute certain of its assets among its stock-
holders and to reduce its capital.

Said bill being upon a third reading.

The bill was then read a third time and passed by yeas and
nays, as follows:
