1100 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 29,

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bills :

The bill entitled an Act to enable the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to endorse the first mortgage bonds of
the Lynchburg and Danville Railroad Company to the
amount of seven hundred and fifty thousand dollars, and to
submit the ordinance providing for such endorsement to the
legal voters of the City of Baltimore,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Agricultural and
Mechanical Society of Allegany county and West Virginia
and Pennsylvania to issue oeupon bonds and secure the pay-
ment thereof,

Endorsed, ''Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Citizens' Rail-
way Company of Baltimore city,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays."
Also,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 112, of the Act
of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1868, chapter 471,
relating to the formation of corporations, and to re-enact said
section,

Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays, with proposed
amendments."

Which were read, and

On motion of Mr. McLane,

Indefinitely postponed.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following bills :

The bill entitled an Act to enable the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to endorse or guarantee the first mort-
gage bonds of the Maryland Central Railroad Company to
the amount of six hundred thousand dollars.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Baltimore
city delegation.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
provide a suitable portrait of the late Gov. Thomas G. Pratt,
to be placed in the Executive Chamber.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.
