Mr. Watkins, (by unanimous consent,) submitted the fol-
lowing amendment:

Sec. 13, strikeout all after the word "miles," in line 6, to
the end of the section, and insert: six cents pey ton may be
charged, unless otherwise provide by law.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Touchstone submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 18, add at the end of section 18: And such company
shall be liable for all damages to live stock which may be
occasioned by the refusal or failure of such, company to erect
such fencing.

Which was read.

Pending the consideration of said amendment,

Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment:

Section 18, strike out all after line 8, to end of section.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Marbury submitted the following amendment:

Section 19, in lines 3 and 8, strike out the words "Auditor
of State," and insert the word Comptroller.
Which was adopted.

Mr. McLane submitted the following amendment:

Section 19, strike out the word "annually," in line 8, and
add at end, of section : at each session thereof.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Marbury submitted the following amendments,:

Section 20, line 4, strike out all ofter the word "works,"
down to the word "proposed," inclusive ; in lines 7 and 8,
strike out the words "or acting Commissioner thereof;" in
line 12, strike out the words "Court of Common, Pleas," and
insert the words: Circuit Court; line 14, strike ©ut the
words "or said acting Commissioner."

Which were severally read and adopted.
Mr. Merrick submitted the following amendment:
Section 25, strike out the whole section.
Which was adopted.

Mr. McLane, (by unanimous consent,) submitted the fol-
lowing amendment :

Section 1, line 2, after the word "five," insert the words:
three of whom shall be citizens of Maryland.

Which, was adopted.
