lating to the education of deaf mutes.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Gorman, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act passed at
January session, 1868, chapter 363, restricting the powers of
the County Commissioners of Howard county in issuing the
bonds of the county in aid of the turnpike companies.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Gatch, Chairman of a Select Committee, to whom was
recommitted the bill entitled an Act to authorize the County
Commissioners of Baltimore county to provide for the renewal
and restoration of the registration books of said county, re-
ported the same with proposed amendment.

Said bill being upon a second reading.

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
Amend by striking out the second section.
The amendment was adopted.
Mr. Garey submitted the following amendment:

After the words "Baltimore county," insert: Caroline
county.

Which was adopted.

And the bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Webb, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore to endorse the bonds of the Elkton and
Massey's Railroad Company, and the Maryland and Dela-
ware Railroad Company.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Percy, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported fa-
vorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 5 and 6,
of the Act of 1864, chapter 121, an Act repealing sections
23, 31, 32, 33, 35, 53 and 54, of the first Article of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Allegany county, relating to the
charter of the city of Cumberland, and to re-enact the same
with amendments, without amendments.
