In response to concern about the use of pes
ncides in the State and their potentially damaging
effects on people, wildlife, and the Chesapeake Bay
watershed, the Governor established the
Governor's Pesticide Council in January 1990 (Fx
ecutive Order 01 01 1990 02) Members were ap
pointed in June 1990
The Commission reviews current pesticide
management programs and recommends actions
to ensure the safety and health of citizens and the
environment
Annually, the Commission reports to the
Governor

The Prehospital Care and Delivery of Trauma
Patients Monitoring Committee was created by the
Governor in June 1987 as a result of a cooperative
agreement signed by Maryland and the District of
Columbia The Committee monitors elements of
the agreement on an ongoing basis

The Governor's Prescription Drug Commission
was created by the Governor in March 1990 (Execu-
tive Older 01 01 1990 07) The Commission is to
develop ind implement a program to curb the diver-
sion of prescription drugs into unlawful channels and
to reduce the abuse and misuse of such drugs
H-ie Commission will make recommendations
concerning the State's efforts to reduce the diver-
sion, abuse and misuse of prescription drugs The
Commission also will consider a regional drug
review piogram for the mid-Atlantic states to col-
lect and compile data on patterns of improper
prescribing or dispensing of prescription drugs
The Commission consists of nineteen members
appointed by the Governor
