In 1987, the Board of Directors of the Maryland
Legal Services Corporation appointed the Advisory
Council on Legal Services to the Poor. The Council
studied the legal needs of Maryland's poor and
assessed the level of funding required to meet those
needs. The Council's findings and recommenda-
tions appear in its final report, Action Plan for Legal
Services to Maryland's Poor, issued January 1988.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE STATE
UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES
Consolidated in 1988 with the Board of Regents
for the University of Maryland to become the Board
of Regents of the University of Maryland System
(Chapter 246, Acts of 1988). Those universities
and colleges formerly under the Board of Trustees
of the State Universities and Colleges became part
of the University of Maryland System by the same
act in 1988.
GOVERNMENT HOUSE TRUST
Replaced in 1988 by the Governor's Mansion Trust
(Chapter 494, Acts of 1988).
MARYLAND CHILDREN'S PROGRAM
AWARDS COMMITTEE
Abolished in 1988 (Chapter 63, Acts of 1988).
MARYLAND CREDIT UNION INSURANCE
CORPORATION
As of 1988, the Governor no longer appoints mem-
bers to the Corporation (Chapter 635, Acts of
1988).

Montrose School closed on March 18,1988.

CORPORATION
Renamed Maryland Housing Resource Corpora-
tion in 1987 (Chapter 309, Acts of 1987).

Abolished in 1988 and replaced by the Advisory
Commission on Sports established in the Depart-
ment of Economic and Employment Development
(Chapter 11, Acts of 1988).

Abolished in 1988 and replaced by the Maryland
Higher Education Commission (Chapter 246, Acts
of 1988).
STATE INVESTMENT AGENCY
Abolished in 1988 and reorganized as the Invest-
ment Division of the State Retirement Agency
(Chapter 698, Acts of 1988).
STATE INVESTMENT COUNCIL
Formerly under the Board of Trustees of the Mary-
land State Retirement and Pension Systems, the
Council was abolished in 1988 (Chapter 698, Acts
of 1988).
STATE SCHOLARSHIP BOARD
Reorganized under the Maryland Higher Educa-
tion Commission as the State Scholarship Admin-
istration in 1988 (Chapter 246, Acts of 1988).
