Baltimore Street, Baltimore 21201 The Governor appointed this special commission in 1965 at the re- quest of the General Assembly to make a comprehensive study and review of the criminal laws of the State, criminal procedures and the administration of criminal justice. The Commission submitted its in- terim report on October 16, 1971 to the Governor and the Legislature, and is continuing its studies. A volume containing a Report and Part I of a Proposed Criminal Code was published in June of 1972 and circu- lated among the Bench, Bar and interested public for study and com- ment. Part II of the Proposed Criminal Code is in the process of prep- aration. The Proposed Criminal Code and the Commission's Report will be presented to the Legislature later for its consideration (J. Preston Street, Baltimore 21201 Telephone: 383-4964 The Governor appointed this Special Study Commission in 1973 to study the organization and administration of primary and secondary education in the counties and in Baltimore City. The Commission is also to study the administration of the University of Maryland, the State colleges, and the community colleges under separate and inde- pendent governing boards. The membership of the Commission consists of persons knowledgeable in the field of public education, but who are not individuals who hold positions of a policy-making nature in the present educational system of Maryland. The Commission is to continue in existence until approximately July of 1975 when it is scheduled to make its report. DRIVER EDUCATION TASK FORCE Chairman: Ejner J. Johnson Owen L. Crabb, Robert H. Diggs, Alan J. Ferraro, Wayne L. Parker, Richard R. Redinger, Charles H. Wheatley. The Governor appointed the members of this Task Force in 1973 to develop a comprehensive approach to driver education for Marylanders of high school age. The Task Force is to work out an accomodation between the public schools and the professional driving schools. The Task Force is also to submit recommendations to include a system of |
